Olivia Grace’s Obituary

Olivia Grace Guerrero passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2016 after just 78 days of life. She passed away peacefully, cuddled in the arms of her mom and dad, while in the NICU at Golisano Children’s Hospital in Rochester, NY.

Although short, Olivia’s life was filled with greatness. Great care from her nurses, doctors, and therapists. Great books, great toys, great kisses and cuddles, great fun. Great clothes from her mom. Great music from her dad. And most importantly, great, great love from everyone whose life she touched.

Many who met or knew of Olivia’s story have said, “she knew more love in two months, than most do in a lifetime.” And it’s this that gives her family great comfort.

Olivia is survived by her parents Luke and Whitney (Prior) Guerrero of Pittsford, NY; paternal grandparents Frank and Marie (Gilsenan) Guerrero of Hopewell Junction, NY; maternal grandparents Michael Prior and Jill Marshall of Portland, ME; aunts and uncles Chris and Lauren (Guerrero) Hernandez of Carmel, NY, and Jason and Abbey (Prior) Hutchins of Scarborough, ME; big cousin Wyatt Hutchins of Scarborough, ME; and maternal great-grandparents Richard and Joan (Webber) Marshall of Farmington, ME.

A public funeral service will be held at 2:00PM Friday, July 15 at Church of the Transfiguration, 50 W Bloomfield Rd, Pittsford, NY 14534.

Memorial donations may be made to the Golisano Children’s Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Olivia’s Updates – Making Following Easier

Mom and I are working to make things a little easier for Olivia’s fans. Our first goal is to make it less of a task to know when we’ve added new content. We’ve heard that some of you are actively “refreshing” the site to look for updates and that just can’t be fun.

You can now subscribe to Olivia’s story to receive email notifications whenever we publish a new post. You can register (and unsubscribe) by going to olivia.lukeandwhitney.com/notifications. Also, whenever you comment on a post, you’ll be given the option to subscribe as well. Both do the same thing.

We’re working on a few more improvements, too. So, feel free to suggest.

Welcome to Olivia’s Story

No matter who you are, or how you found your way here: thank you. Thank you for being here, for showing our family support, for caring about our sweet little girl’s journey.

Before jumping into Olivia’s story and progress, we suggest you take a minute to familiarize yourself with her site.

Understand the types of posts we share. We share a daily update under “Daily Rounds“. These include medical updates and details on Olivia’s progress. Because these updates generally build upon the prior day’s update, it may be helpful to go back a bit in time and read forward in order to “catch up” to wear we are today. These may be more detailed than you care for, so every once in a while we’ll try to take a step back and provide a more general, high level update on how Olivia is doing, and what’s next. Read or don’t read. You’ve been warned! Stories from Mom and Stories from Dad are just that. Topics and frequency will vary, but it’s a time and space for us to share fun stories, sad stories, whatever is on our mind.

Get the password for our password protected posts. All of our Daily Rounds posts are password protected. Please don’t hesitate to ask us for the password. We’ll share it freely with those who are interested! Our reason for password protecting them is simply to keep them away from the broader more public interwebs, since we share a lot of medical information, and even reference provider names.

Sign up for email notifications hereWe want to provide you with an easy way to stay up to date on Olivia’s progress, should you be so inclined. This allows you to receive a simple email each time we publish a new update.

Make your comments count. Just kidding, we appreciate and love reading every single comment you leave. But, you can make it more fun by adding a picture! Learn how to do that in this post.
